Railroad Train Planner

We are hiring immediately for a Railroad Train Planner (Load Planner) to Join or team at the BNSF St Louis, MO rail terminal in a recession-proof industry! This is an entry level position and no experience is required as we'll teach you everything you need to know in order to be successful on the job.

Schedule :

• Nights and Weekends Required
• 6pm-6am
• Rotating 2 week Schedule (Work 3 days, off 4 days, work 4 days off 3 days)

Summary / Objective :

The Load Planner coordinates the terminal’s train planning to ensure retention of service levels and thereby satisfy the customer’s requirements.

This is accomplished thru coordination of the operating department and the Class 1 Railroad.

Essential Responsibilities :

• This position is responsible for scheduling, and coordinating the intermodal train planning activities of the terminal.
• Ensure accuracy when making decisions for a major change in train planning. Non-routing matters are referred with recommended solutions to the terminal manager.
• Daily contact is normal maintained with the terminal manager for informational purposes and for recommendations to improve productivity and cost controls, other Managers within the terminal for the coordination of train planning.
• Maintain good relations with all major contacts including the Union Pacific Railroad Manager of Intermodal Train planning in order to keep apprised of intermodal conditions and secure information concerning inbound train arrivals.
• Maintain awareness and organization within the rail yard, to include an attention to the ground surface (potholes, debris and / or slippery conditions).
• All other duties as assigned.
