Summary :
The State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a detail-oriented BI QA Tester to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of enterprise reporting solutions. This role is critical to validating dashboards and reports developed in Power BI and other cloud-based tools, ensuring they meet business requirements and deliver trusted insights. The ideal candidate will have strong technical testing skills, experience in agile environments, and the ability to develop automated test scripts tailored to data and reporting needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with product owners and scrum teams to understand acceptance criteria and translate them into comprehensive test cases.
- Execute manual and automated test cases to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reports and dashboards.
- Identify, document, and track defects and data issues , working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain automated testing scripts using SQL and Python to improve testing efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies , contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support continuous improvement of QA processes and documentation.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems , or a related field.5+ years of experience in BI QA testing, with a focus on validating data-driven reports and dashboards.Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Python for test automation and data validation.Experience testing Power BI, Tableau , or other cloud-based reporting platforms.Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies .We're looking for a self-motivated team member who can work independently in a fully remote Agile environment - someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates proactively, and drives progress without needing close supervision.Skills & Competencies :
