SUMMARY :
The Employment Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Employment Services Department, including the supervision of all employment staff. This role involves conducting clinically informed and outcomes-driven weekly one-on-one meetings to support staff in effectively assisting job seekers in achieving greater wellness and life satisfaction through meaningful employment. The manager ensures that employment goals are aligned with each individual’s strengths, skills, abilities, and preferences. Additional responsibilities include administrative and outcomes-focused tasks such as collaborating with the Illinois Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), overseeing budget planning and monitoring, and maintaining daily updates to electronic health records (EHRs) and spreadsheets for reporting, billing, and program monitoring.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Maintain a partial caseload (5-8) of job seekers with the goal of securing and sustaining competitive, integrated employment.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to employment staff through weekly individual and group supervision, as well as monthly field-based mentoring sessions.
- Serve as a champion for employment services across Anixter through ongoing collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Chicago Hearing Society (CHS), Mental Health, and Developmental Disabilities (DD) departments.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders (e.g., Illinois Division of Rehabilitation Services [DRS], University of Chicago Medicine [UCM], Chicago Department of Aviation / Kessler, etc.) to sustain and grow existing revenue streams.
- Monitor and analyze programmatic outcomes using Microsoft Excel and Anixter’s electronic health record system (AWARDS).
- Partner with the assigned DRS liaison to maintain and expand DRS contracts for continued funding.
- Collaborate with Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) counselors throughout Chicago to ensure a steady flow of referrals, complete case staffing's, and maintain strong inter-agency communication.
- Ensure the employment team meets or exceeds all DRS contract goals; submits monthly billing for the Employment Services Department to DRS within five business days following the end of each month.
- Attend DRS community meetings and trainings to represent Anixter and stay informed of policy updates, best practices, and program changes.
- Conduct outreach to engage and partner with local businesses, fostering employment opportunities for job seekers.
- Works effectively and maintains positive relationships with other departments and programs, both internally and externally
- Supervises the agency’s program staff under the provisions of the agency's Human Resources Policies and Procedures regarding recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, supervision, evaluation, promotion, discipline, and termination of staff.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications – Must be an MHP by meeting one of the following :
Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related fieldHigh school diploma or GED and five years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health settingAdditional Requirements :
