Senior Area Transformation Industrial Engineer
Raytheon is seeking a Senior Area Transformation Industrial Engineer to support production within the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, AZ to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and more. Responsibilities will focus primarily on supporting factory leadership, Strategic Business Unit partners, and peer organizations to advance Lean Transformation initiatives, identify strategic investment opportunities and lead critical projects benefiting the make centers :
- Partner closely with Factory Industrial Engineers and Program Industrial Engineers to create predictable manufacturing systems.
- Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.
- Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
- Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics.
- Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities.
- Partner with project managers and factory support functions to improve modify the factory footprint and layout of factory equipment as needed.
- Support program contract proposals, business case development for future investments, supplier assessments, and Make / Buy / Where analyses.

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or 3 years of relevant experience with a master's degree in a similar discipline. The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
