Overview

At CesiumAstro, we develop out-of-the-box communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are looking to add an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer II to our team. If you enjoy a startup environment and are passionate about developing leading-edge manufacturing processes for high-reliability, high-volume satellites, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture CesiumAstro's diverse array of electronic assemblies for satellites and other aerospace platforms, including on-site manufacturing and collaboration with contract manufacturers (CMs).
  • Perform highly technical manufacturing analysis, design, and process optimization (e.g., choosing solder chemistries, root-causing non-conformances, defect analysis).
  • Execute administrative functions such as supplier reviews and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team, engineering team, program management, and external CMs to industrialize space products for a growing market.

Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering with 2 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of electronics hardware.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with cost analysis, supplier management, and configuration management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Statistical process control.
  • Experience in aerospace or other high-reliability industries.
  • PCBA electronics manufacturing and / or electronics assembly experience.
  • Proficiency with PLM and ERP software.
  • Proficiency in AS9100 / ISO9001 quality management system requirements.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Ability to tackle multiple high-priority tasks successfully.
