Civil Engineer - Entry Level - Water / Wastewater / Stormwater role at Clark Dietz, Inc. Responsibilities
- Performs design tasks including computations and analysis for municipal infrastructure including wastewater treatment plants, sanitary sewers, lift stations and storm water facilities.
- Applies engineering principals to develop solutions and evaluate performance and life cycle cost of municipal infrastructure improvements.
- Creates drawings and models following the company's design standards and utilizing the designated CAD or modeling software with limited guidance.
- Assists with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, supporting documents and permit applications.
- Assists with construction phase services for water and wastewater treatment facilities and for sanitary sewer, potable water, and storm sewer infrastructure projects.
- Interprets construction plans and documents for the contractor and client, interface with operators regarding potential interference with operations.
- Assists with full or preliminary review of shop drawings, submittals, change orders, punch lists and contractor as-builts.
- Assists with maintaining project documentation, daily reports of construction site activity, project files, RFIs and submittals.
- Participates in progress meetings and assists in equipment startup and project close-out.
- Drafts correspondence, reports and communicates effectively with project stakeholders.
Qualifications
B.S. degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering; M.S. degree preferred. EIT is desired.Coursework and / or experience (internship or co-op) in hydraulics with emphasis on wastewater treatment, water treatment, water distribution, or storm water modeling.Ability to accurately perform calculations to support detailed design recommendations.Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to participate in project meetings.Ability to collaborate effectively with team members from multiple offices.Experience with AutoCAD (Civil3D), WaterCAD, SWMM, GIS is desired.Experience with hydrologic / hydraulic analysis software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, XP-SWMM, Biowin) or similar packages is desired.Valid driver's license is required.Compensation & Benefits
