Deputy Regional Vice President

The Deputy Regional Vice President (RVP) role is a senior leadership position supporting the Regional Vice President in accomplishing the region's business objectives. The position requires a business acumen to lead a large established insurance operation representing multiple underwriting teams and disciplines. A proficiency in both property and casualty lines of coverage is required.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Regional Vice President in achieving budget.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to reach business objectives.
- Drive cross-sell and pipeline management amongst underwriting teams.
- Provide coaching, guidance and mentoring to underwriting staff.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for key customer and brokerage partners.
- Plan and execute large marketing events.
- Monitor and react to performance indicators to improve outcomes.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive office environment
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or related field (Master's degree preferred)Professional insurance designation(s) strongly preferred (e.g., ACII, CPCU, ARM, or equivalent)Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the property & casualty insurance sectorDemonstrated success in a senior leadership or management role within insurance operationsAdvanced knowledge of both lines of property and casualty underwriting practicesProven record in developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives and achieving financial targetsStrong experience building and sustaining productive broker, agent, and customer relationshipsExpertise leading, coaching, and mentoring high-performing underwriting teams across multiple disciplinesExcellent analytical and decision-making skills, including the ability to interpret complex performance metricsOutstanding verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilitiesCommitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work cultureProficiency with insurance systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office SuiteSalary Range $200,000-$225,000Starr is an equal opportunity employer, which means we'll consider all suitably qualified applicants regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, age, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic.
