Job Summary
The Riverside County Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder has an opportunity for an IT Database Administrator II (IT DBA II) in Riverside, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, monitor, and implement Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer database solutions.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain backup solutions including disaster recovery scenarios, database performance, user security, and data imports.
- Oversee interactions with other databases and assist with conceptual design of new data warehousing models for large enterprise systems.
- Create SQL Server databases, tables, views, stored procedures and functions to support in?house and third?party applications and data repositories.
- Define database information, access, and file structure requirements through discussions with users and colleagues.
- Administer and troubleshoot database issues for users, monitor databases, maintain security and integrity, and develop reports as requested.
- Develop procedures and data applications; manage user access and response time.
- Design architecture of server applications and implement by writing, testing, and debugging complex programs.
- Design and implement database management systems by creating models, building table structure, establishing referential integrity, and preparing documentation.
- Perform database backups and recovery including off?site storage for disaster recovery; tune, monitor data integrity and security, and resolve problems.
- Ensure acceptable database performance through assessing user access and response time, modifying structure, and coordinating with system resources and data users.
- Manipulate data through normalization, transfer, tuning, cleansing, and scrubbing processes, and database population.
- Create and maintain data warehousing and data mining systems; design and maintain database software configuration library, specifications, documentation, and operating procedures.
- Research, evaluate, and test proposed products, versions, and systems solutions.
- Develop quality standards based on industry standards and evaluation of available technology and resources.
Qualifications
Completed bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or data processing.Two years of IT job?related experience, preferably with the County of Riverside.Minimum of 30 semester or 45 quarter units of related coursework equate to one year full?time experience; additional qualifying IT experience may substitute.Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration and management.Experience with AWS MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL RDS, and Aurora databases.Experience working within a public, nonprofit or large?scale organization integrating large enterprise systems.Knowledge of database design, replication, propagation, tuning, and performance management (RDBMS, DB2, IMS, Informix, Sybase).Proficiency in PowerShell and Power BI; familiarity with SolarWinds.Preferred Skills
Experience building data warehousing conceptual models across multiple database platforms, especially in AWS.Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (logical, conceptual, physical).Ability to develop quality standards based on industry best practices.Experience researching and evaluating new database products and solutions.Familiarity with CA?7, COBOL, CLISTS, DBRC, DFDSS, Erwin, ER Studio, FDR, ISPF, MVS, PACE, RMF, SMF, TSO, Turbo Image, or VSAM is a plus.Notice
