Senior Payroll Specialist
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist with extensive experience in international and U.S. payroll processing, Workday Payroll, and complex tax compliance. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution across multiple countries, with a strong emphasis on global statutory compliance, international tax filings, and audit readiness.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to thrive in both large-scale and fast-growing startup environments, showing adaptability, ownership of end-to-end processes, and hands-on problem solving. Experience with OneSource Virtual (OSV) or a comparable third-party tax provider is strongly preferred.
Direct, process, and review international payrolls (e.g., Canada, UK, EMEA, APAC) in partnership with in-country vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and statutory compliance.
Bring extensive UK payroll expertise, with demonstrated experience leveraging Workday.
Manage Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC, including Full Payment Submissions (FPS), Employer Payment Summaries (EPS), and error corrections through EYU / Year-to-Date adjustments.
Oversee monthly and annual UK requirements, including P45s, Starter Checklists (P46), P60s, and P11D / P11D(b) reporting for benefits in kind.
Monitor and apply changes to UK tax law, National Insurance thresholds, and statutory payment rules (SMP, SPP, SSP, SAP, etc.), ensuring compliance with HMRC guidance.
Reconcile UK payroll tax liabilities with HMRC remittances and ensure timely payment of PAYE / NIC.
Support UK year-end obligations, including Class 1A NIC settlements and PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement) submissions.
Serve as backup for U.S. payroll processing in Workday, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Collaborate with OSV on International and U.S. payroll tax filings, amendments, and resolution of agency notices.
Ensure global payroll adherence to statutory requirements, including social insurance, tax withholding, and reporting obligations.
Review, reconcile, and analyze payroll tax liabilities and funding across multiple jurisdictions.
Coordinate with international payroll vendors to validate inputs and ensure accurate, timely delivery of gross-to-net calculations, payments, and statutory reports.
Manage quarter-end and year-end payroll close processes, including W-2s, T4s, P11Ds, PSA filings, and other statutory deliverables.
Conduct payroll system testing and support Workday configuration updates in response to evolving payroll and compliance requirements.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of payroll processes, statutory regulations, and audit trails across all payroll entities.
Provide support during internal and external audits, responding to requests related to both U.S. and international payroll operations.
