Accounts Payable Specialist

The Kelly Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for its Decatur, Illinois, office. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of clerical and / or accounting experience.

This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties :

Issue purchase orders and purchase materials as requested by company-approved buyers

Transfer coding information from purchase orders to vendor invoices and process accounts payable vendor checks as required

Perform data entry and answer incoming phone calls

Perform necessary paperwork to set up new vendors, and research and resolve discrepancies, missing information and vendor inquiries

Knowledge of the accounts payable cycle and the impact on the general ledger

Other preferred qualifications sought include :

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

Ability to transcribe recorded meeting notes

Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
