Mission
IGH is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Facilities Policy Writer to assist the Office of Facilities, Information and Asset Management with updating DOT Policy Orders. DOT Orders are subject matter specific under Facilities Management. The writer will work with the COR, program manager, and subject matter experts to update policies. The writer will be provided with existing policy, standard operating procedures, and points of contact. Responsibilities include setting up meetings, taking minutes, analyzing materials to provide mockups, drafts and final policy; priority is determined by the Office of Facilities Management and each DOT Order has a target completion date.
Responsibilities
Coordinate working sessions with Program Offices
Consolidate comments for inclusion
Update and finalize outdated facility policies
Create timelines and project plans
Produce weekly and monthly reports
Be a mid-level Microsoft Office user in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Schedule team meetings using Microsoft Teams
Prepare draft and final versions of Policy Documents
Qualifications
Strong writing and analytical skills
Effective communication in person and via electronic resources
Ability to interpret current policy, procedures, and external regulations to write new policy
Experience with hosting presentations using Microsoft Teams
Strong command of the English language
Experience writing policy or standard operating procedures
Experience managing a project plan and building timelines to meet target dates
Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Flexibility to work onsite with periodic telework
First policy to update : Personal Property Manual, with a target date of February 28, 2022
