We’re caught in a bind and hiring ASAP. This leading publishing company in Grand Rapids is looking for Bindery Assistants to join their team! As a Bindery Assistant, you’ll operate the machinery used to finalize production on printed materials such as vehicle manuals, various books, and religious publications.
A typical day as a Bindery Assistant includes :
- Performing a variety of hand operations such as gathering and inserting materials for binding
- Loading machines with printed signatures
- Removing printed signatures and books from machinery to pack for shipment
- Maintaining production, quality, and report standards set by the company
- Performing general housekeeping tasks
- Adhering to safety rules and procedures at all times
Let’s chat about the Bindery Assistant role if you :
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Maintain a steady working pace without sacrificing quality
- Can read and execute simple instructions
- Are able to accurately add, subtract, and count
- Understand the importance of a safe working environment
- Don’t mind the workout that comes with lifting / moving 15-25 lbs regularly
We offer Bindery Assistants :
- A pay rate of $16-$17 / hour
- Full-time work on 3rd shift
- A $100 bonus when you refer a friend to WSI
