Medical Assistant III
Welcome to The Population Health Center. We are home to two clinics : the Intensive Outpatient Clinic, a family practice clinic that specializes in helping those with behavioral and social determinant needs, and the Rose Park Primary Care Clinic, a family practice clinic run by the University of Utah School of Medicine faculty and students. We are hiring a Medical Assistant committed to providing exceptional care for others. This position is unique in its scope as it will support the whole center and not just one individual clinic. It will also include clinical and administrative responsibilities.
Job duties will include providing clinical support to each clinic as needed (i.e. floating between both clinics as an MA) as well as providing administrative support. Administrative support will include but is not limited to front desk duties (answering phones, checking in patients, answering patient questions, and filling food pantry orders) as well as supporting the clinics with their recruitment and referrals, scheduling, and managing billing logs.

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above. Demonstrated phlebotomy skills. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in the specific clinics specialty skills within six weeks of hire. Specialty skills may not be performed until after the new hire completed basic competency testing. Incumbents face exposure to potentially dangerous contaminated bodily fluids, blood, used needles and other contaminants as part of the daily hazards of the job. Ability to withstand the physical demand of being on your feet for long periods of time, of moving and lifting patients and of reaching for and handling equipment.
