The IT Operations Specialist is a hands-on role overseeing the technology systems that support all store and corporate operations. This position manages vendor and MSP relationships, plans and executes technology projects, and ensures that network, POS, and communication systems run efficiently. The position requires judgment and discretion in planning, budgeting, vendor selection, and system enhancements.
Manage and / or resolve incoming IT requests through the helpdesk ticketing system, ensuring timely response, documentation, and resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues.Prioritize issues, allocate resources, and determine when to escalate complex problems to the MSP or vendors, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication back to the field.Identify recurring issues and analyze root causes, and lead implementation of long-term corrective actions or process improvements.Set up, replace, or troubleshoot store technology equipment including computers and networking equipment.Coordinate on-site support as needed to perform installations, repairs, or training.Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements. Lead or assist with technology rollouts, upgrades, or system improvements across multiple locations.Partner with third party providers and CFO to prioritize and plan technology projects. Assist with IT budget planning, tracking technology expenses, and optimizing vendor costsServe as the primary contact for technology vendors-tracking performance, managing contract compliance, and obtaining quotes.Order IT supplies and equipment, maintaining accurate records of assets and warranties.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for common IT-related tasks.Develop and deliver user-friendly training materials such as guides, checklists, and short videos.Requirements
Experience : 3+ years in hands-on IT or operations support; multi-site retail or fuel operations experience preferredWorking knowledge of POS systems, networking basics, and Windows environmentsComfortable troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issuesFamiliarity with Office 365, cloud-based systems, and remote support toolsStrong collaborative communication and follow-through with field and office staffHighly organized and self-directed; capable of managing multiple priorities and vendor relationshipsAnalytical problem solver with the ability to stay calm and resourceful in a fast-paced environmentRobinson Oil Corporation is a family-owned company operating 39 "Rotten Robbie" gas stations and convenience stores throughout the greater Bay Area.
