Description
Summary :
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist Lead is to
be an advanced, experienced technologist within the IR department
and able to demonstrate mastery of all hospital or clinical-level
imaging competencies. The IR Technologist Lead is responsible for
coordinating patient scheduling, and daily work assignments, and
serves as a resource for the technologists in the diagnostic
department. Helps to ensure operations function at top levels of
efficiency and exceed customer expectations. The IR Tech Lead will
help coordinate the training and development of the diagnostic
radiologic technologists, keeping them advised of technological and
procedure changes and participating in their growth and competency
requirements. Observe radiation, personnel, and patient safety
measures. Must be familiar with emergency situations associated
with special procedures and must possess the ability to respond
quickly and accurately to all situations that occur in the IR
Department. Properly follows protocol in notification and
documentation of all contrast / medication reactions. Excellent
communication skills are necessary.

procedures, and standards of care as deemed appropriate by State
and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory
entities.
Demonstrates flexibility by working
other shifts and at other campuses as needed or
required.
Ensures completed exams are scanned
and stored correctly in PACS.
Ability to
follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate
any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if
needed.
Troubleshoots and reports any
equipment malfunctions to the Director / Manager / Supervisor and / or
Biomedical personnel; does appropriate
follow-up.
Performs other duties as
assigned.
Job
Requirements : Education / Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology
Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent
required
Experience
2 years of experience in Medical Imaging
preferred
2 years of experience in Vascular
Interventional required
Customer service and
telephone experience required
Effective
communication experience with physicians, patients, associates, and
other departments is required
Basic computer
experience required
Licenses, Registrations, or
Certifications
Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by
ARRT is required
State Licensure required
Texas : MRT by

New Mexico : RRT by MIRTP
NMED
BLS
required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
preferred
