Job Description :
This position is responsible for the supervision of the stockroom employees and the daily material needs of the site, while maintaining a safe environment and following procedures, adhering to all material handling practices and procedures. Responsible for accurately delivering material to the labs and keeping inventory organized and labeled. Assign daily task to employees and make sure metrics are being recorded in a timely manner. Work with manager on process improvements to improve accuracy and productivity and performance. Assigns tasks, peer reviews and provides training. Communicates with people and departments inside and outside of Material Control to explain and interpret policies, practices, and procedures. Provides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance and / or compensation decisions. Plans and establishes operational objectives / goals for employees.
Essential Functions :
- Performs work in adherence to safe material handling practices and maintain compliance with L3Harris specific Environment Health and Safety policies / procedures regarding material handling
- Creates and maintains stockroom procedures and work instructions including correcting, organizing, and making sure that all inventory is properly labeled. Also manages physical storage of inventory to facilitate safe & efficient handling
- Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team with moderate impact on the achievement of department results.
- Responsible for training & cross training of direct reports. Also oversees direct employee reviews and any employee improvement programs.
- Supervises employees through staff development, assigning duties and examining work to ensure compliance of the organization's policies, procedures
- Conduct / support annual cycle count(s)
- Reports inventory accuracy percentage per requirement / goal to appropriate leadership
- Reviews daily reports and ensure completion of key tasks designed to keep an accurate inventory and ensuring team understands and works towards performance goals
- Facilitate daily Gemba meetings with staff
- Lead functional projects / teams as assigned.
- Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored
- Recommends process improvement within the warehouse which will improve accuracy of inventory and / or productivity
- Maintain a clean, organized and efficient stockroom

Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.Understands basic supervisory approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, and process execution.Ability to stand, walk and bend for extended periods of timeAbility to handle items (up to 25lbs) utilizing proper lifting techniques and material handling aidsFlexibility to work overtime, weekend, holiday and / or second shift workMotivated and independent self-starter who can carry out assignments to completionKnowledge of Bill of Materials (BoM) and understanding how to read the requirementsStrong computer skillsUnderstanding of inventory and transactional accuracyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlinesComprehensive knowledge of stockroom operations a plusPrevious MRP experience desiredEffective verbal and written communication skillsExceptional organizational service skillsPreferred Additional Skills :
