About The Position

Must-Have :

• Experience with patient ratios of 3-4 per nurse
• Experience in managing ventilated patients
• Experience with blood product administration
• Skills in telemetry monitoring and management of cardiac drips

Description :

This position involves working in a 29-bed adult stepdown unit.

Floating to ICU and medical-surgical clusters may be required based on patient acuity.

There is an expectation to work every other weekend.

A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is acceptable, and first-time travelers are welcome.

Candidates must possess current ACLS and BLS certifications.

This unit cares for patients with various diagnoses, including sepsis, acute kidney injury, and respiratory failure.

The average daily census is 29 patients, with a mix of levels of care.

Interdisciplinary support is available from various services, including respiratory therapy and social services.

Travelers must comply with floating requirements across departments.

All nurses will be required to participate in patient observer duties throughout the organization.

Additional required skills include management of central lines, arterial lines, and tracheostomy care.

Maintaining high standards of care and adhering to isolation precautions is crucial.

Travelers may have opportunities to take training on-site without compensation for those hours.

Supporting a positive patient experience while managing workload effectively is essential.
