Senior Aircraft Systems Safety Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a full-time Senior Aircraft Systems Safety Engineer in our Olathe, KS; Wichita, KS; or Chandler, AZ location. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the aircraft system safety assessment process and generating and approving the required analyses in support of Garmin STC projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with system safety analysts to establish the system safety approach and documentation necessary to show compliance for Garmin STC
• Support the generation and UM approval of System Safety Assessment documentation in support of Garmin STC projects
• Interface with Hardware, Software and EMC groups to ensure appropriate design assurance levels are considered
• FAA approve Functional Hazard Analysis, qualitative analysis, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis and particular risk / common cause analyses as required to certify the STC installations
• Generate Functional Hazard Analysis, qualitative analysis, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis and particular risk / common cause analyses as required to certify the STC installations for projects not assigned as a UM
• FAA approve test plans and reports and other data supporting system safety assessment process
• Work with engineers to generate and approve compliance statements for 23.1309 and other regulations that require system safety substantiation in support of Garmin STC projects
• Provide guidance and mentoring to system safety engineers
• Interface with ODA Administrators and FAA engineers as required
