Sales & Use Tax Accountant

PrideStaff Financial is working with a reputable client in Irving, Texas that is seeking an experienced Sales & Use Tax Accountant to join their accounting team.

This role will focus on ensuring compliance with state and local sales and use tax regulations, preparing filings and supporting audits.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid sales tax knowledge and experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and file monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
• Review transactions to ensure proper tax treatment and compliance
• Reconcile sales tax accounts and maintain accurate supporting documentation
• Assist with sales and use tax audits, including gathering data and responding to inquiries
• Monitor changes in tax laws and recommend process improvements as needed
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and other departments to resolve tax-related issues
• Support general accounting functions and special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in sales and use tax accounting or related tax compliance work
• Strong understanding of multi-state sales tax regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/ERP software
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to travel ~2-3 times a year domestically

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 Per Year
