Position Summary :

The Senior Buyer will be part of the procurement organization and is responsible for sourcing and procurement activities for IT spend categories.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for coordinating and leading sourcing and procurement activities for IT spend including but not limited IT infrastructure, networking, telecommunications, etc. across multiple sites. Other operational indirect categories will be supported as needed. Collaborate with all functions on effectively managing supply base to ensure high level of performance and strong customer service.
  • Responsible for delivering established cost savings targets through competitive bidding process and effective negotiation of supply and service agreements. Manage all supplier costs and ensure contract compliance.
  • Responsible for performing all aspects of sourcing and procurement activities in support of major initiatives including stakeholder requirement analysis, identification of bidders list, RFP / RFQ development, conducting competitive bid events, detailed bid analysis, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, risk mitigation, supply / service continuity, and supplier performance.
  • Responsible for using Legal templates (MSA's, Service Agreements, License Agreements, etc.) and performing thorough reviews, redlines and discussions to maximize value and minimize risk to the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create thorough business requirements and incorporate in sourcing strategies and resulting agreements. Encourage internal stakeholders to engage Procurement as a strategic versus tactical partner while communicating Procurement value. Maintain high level of communication across the organization.

Requirements :

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree with related experience required. MS / MBA / CPM / CPIM a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years sourcing and procurement experience, preferably within a multi-plant or multi-divisional business. Proven experience in RFI / RFP / RFQ development, evaluation, negotiations, contracting, execution, and contract management.
  • Contracting experience and a demonstrated proficiency in developing procurement strategies which comprehend and contribute to overall business objectives is a must.
  • Candidate must have applied experience in the understanding of legal issues, contractual principles, and negotiation techniques used in the development of complex contractual agreements.
  • In addition, the candidate must have the ability to actively participate on regional multi-functional teams, a proven capability in workload management, exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal skills, problem solving skills, and significant experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with MRP and e-procurement tools a plus.
