Production Equipment Reliability Technician

This mid-level role sits between Jr. Mechanic and Electro-Mechanic, blending mechanical mastery with practical electrical know-how to keep food production running at its best.
Your Mission
- Drive reliability through preventive and corrective maintenance of motors, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics, and related machinery.
- Contribute on electrical tasks : replace switches and sensors; install and troubleshoot VFDs.
- Use observation, sound, and basic diagnostic tools to pinpoint mechanical issues.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment with hand and power tools; assist with setups, changeovers, and light fabrication.
- Support facilities : basic plumbing and carpentry, HVAC filter changes, and general building care.
- Assist during inclement weather (snow removal, salting, roof checks) and help with grounds maintenance.
- Keep tools organized, return equipment to proper locations, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
- Manage parts and supplies inventory; escalate shortages and reorder needs.
- Record work accurately in CMMS / work orders; propose improvements to enhance uptime and safety.
Safety, Food Safety & Quality Focus
Strictly follow LOTO and all company safety procedures.Support GMPs, SSOPs, HACCP, and CCP monitoring.Ensure equipment performance aligns with food safety and quality requirements; report and correct risks promptly.Core Competencies
Mechanical troubleshooting strength and a hands-on mindset.Fundamental electrical knowledge (low voltage, sensors, relays, VFDs).Ability to read manuals, schematics, and basic blueprints.Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.Detail orientation, problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.2–4 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar settings.Familiarity with packaging equipment or food processing equipment preferred.CMMS experience a plus.Physical Requirements & Conditions
Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for inspections and repairs.Comfort working on ladders and elevated platforms.Lift up to 50 pounds.Operate in noisy, cold, hot, and wet environments.Who We Are
