Tutor, Athletics Academics

Job Description

An academic tutor will be asked and expected to tutor student-athletes in various courses. All tutoring will take place in the McClendon Center for Intercollegiate Athletics and will range based on student-athlete need and tutor availability.

Tutoring sessions will include 1-3 student-athletes and are expected to last 45 minutes.

Job Requirements

Required Education : Athletics Tutors must meet the skills requirement below. Must attach transcript reflecting minimum grade requirement or degree earned.

Skills :

• Must have earned a B or higher in the specific course or have been award a degree in that area
• Must be capable of tutoring the courses specified
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to effectively communicate course material while engaging with our student-athletes in a positive manner
• Must be willing and able to communicate and build relationships with a diverse group of students
• Must be willing and able to gain and maintain working knowledge of university, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations
• Must be willing and able to adhere to standards of conduct for Athletics Academics Tutorial Staff

Preferences :

• Experience working as a tutor for undergraduate or graduate students
• Experience working with a diverse group of students
• Working knowledge of university, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations

Advertised Physical Requirements :

Must be able to communicate verbally, hear, and see including color, depth perception and clarity
