Overview
The Front Desk Agent / Night Auditor plays a dual role in providing exceptional guest service throughout all hours of operation while ensuring accurate financial and operational reporting during overnight shifts. This position is responsible for welcoming guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, responding to guest needs, and performing nightly balancing of hotel accounts to maintain the integrity of daily financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services:
Greet and assist guests with a warm, professional demeanor.
Process guest check-ins, check-outs, and room assignments efficiently.
Handle guest inquiries, reservations, and requests promptly and courteously.
Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints, escalating when necessary.
Maintain knowledge of hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
Front Desk Operations:
Manage room inventory and coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance.
Handle cash, credit card transactions, and ensure accuracy of posted charges.
Maintain accurate records and logs, including shift reports and guest information.
Answer phones, route calls, and handle messages per hotel standards.
Night Audit Duties:
Balance all daily room, restaurant, and miscellaneous charges.
Verify and post transactions to appropriate accounts.
Generate and distribute end-of-day reports for management.
Ensure all front desk accounting procedures comply with Sandman Hotel policies.
Prepare for the next day’s operations by setting up front desk systems and supplies.
Previous hotel front desk or night audit experience preferred.
Proficiency in hotel PMS (Opera, Maestro, or similar).
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Flexible schedule — ability to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
