As a Tax Manager you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around your technical expertise and ability to work on a collaborative team to deliver excellent client service :
- Engage with existing and new clients providing tax planning, advice, and oversight of a full spectrum of tax services including nearly all tax forms for all entity types.
- Manage and oversee the tax production team focused on entity, individual, fiduciary, and gift / estate taxation. This includes the planning and execution of client tax engagements
- Provide leadership, training, and career mentorship to staff and supervisor-level team members
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field, CPA / CPA Eligible or EAMinimum of 5 years of experience working in public accounting with an emphasis on tax. Most recent years should include experience reviewing and finalizing tax returns for nearly every entity type.Expertise in at least one area : entity, individual, and fiduciary taxation; with an understanding of complex investments and the related tax implicationsFamiliar with multi-state taxationStrong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to work in a collaborative team and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.My Client offers a competitive benefits and compensation package for all our people. REQUIREMENTS :
CPA OR CPA Eligible, or EA is considered.Oversee 5-10 lower level employees - 2 years of management experience preferred (not a must-have, a nice to have).Tax Knowledge is a must, better to have Tax knowledge than management skills.Experience in CCH Access is a +Personality that fits with our team, ability to be in office, applicable tax knowledgeThis is a management role with some advanced tax prep expected, a lot of reviewing of tax returns, and some communication with clients.Expect busy season 50 to 60 for a few weeks in late March, early April, early Sept to mid-October. Shouldn't ever be more. Rest of the year it can be 40 or less.This can lead to a profit-sharing partner role down the road.
