POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Development Representative (BDR) at Wild Ridge Landscape will be exclusively responsible for generating new business opportunities and expanding the company's client base. This outbound-focused role requires identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective commercial clients. The BDR will initiate the sales process through cold outreach, email campaigns, networking, and social media engagement to build a strong sales pipeline. Success in this role will come from an entrepreneurial mindset, excellent prospecting discipline, and the ability to effectively communicate the value of Wild Ridge Landscape's services.

OBJECTIVES

  • Dedicate 100% of time to new business development, this includes identifying and engaging potential commercial clients through outbound channels (cold calls, cold emails, LinkedIn, referrals, industry events, and local networking).
  • Qualify leads by uncovering business needs, decision-making processes, budget, and timing.
  • Consistently schedule discovery calls and onsite walkthroughs with prospects for Sales Executives or Operations leadership.
  • Maintain detailed prospecting activity and funnel data in HubSpot CRM, adhering to the company's sales process and follow-up cadence.
  • Deliver initial pitch presentations to communicate Wild Ridge's service offerings and value proposition clearly and compellingly.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly KPI targets, including number of outbound touches, meetings booked, and qualified leads generated.
  • Collaborate with marketing to provide feedback on messaging effectiveness and ideal customer profiles based on real-time prospecting insights.
  • Report weekly on pipeline growth, lead status, and performance metrics to the CEO and Director of Growth.

COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in using CRM platforms for tracking prospecting activities and managing pipelines.
  • Strong research skills to identify new accounts and key decision-makers.
  • Ability to develop personalized outreach sequences that drive engagement.
  • Solid presentation and demo capabilities, particularly in early-stage sales conversations.
  • Persistent, self-driven, and motivated to chase and close new leads.
  • Maintains focus through rejection and continues to refine approach.
  • Eager to learn, adapt to feedback, and improve strategies and techniques.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, capable of prioritizing high-impact tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of B2B outside sales experience
  • Proficient in Hubspot CRM, business communication (email), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth understanding of the B2B buyer's journey and sales process.
  • Must have valid Driver's License
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent travel to various locations within Indianapolis to meet with prospective clients.
