Regional Business Development Representative

Location : Franklin, Indiana

Reports to : MMR leadership

Employment Type : Full Time / Salaried + Commission

Position Overview

Modern Metal Roofing (MMR) is a premium manufacturer of architectural and high-performance metal roofing systems for commercial and residential markets. This role will build out and sustain our remote builder / contractor relationships. It will also be responsible for the marketing reach for contractors and architects throughout the Midwest. This position is based in our Franklin, Indiana, manufacturing facility. It involves 70% travel within a 5-hour radius to build, train, and sustain our contractor / sales network. Your main objective is to identify and close sales opportunities with these organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue residential and commercial roofing opportunities in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Southern Michigan, and Central Tennessee.
  • Identify and cultivate key relationships with roofing contractors, general contractors, architects, and building owners.
  • Prospect for upcoming metal roofing bids and promote a specification that differentiates MMR.
  • Conduct field visits, training, and sales support for the market channels to promote MMR products.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations.
  • Manage the sales process from lead generation and follow-up and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records in our CRM (HubSpot or similar).
  • Attend trade shows, AIA events, roofing association meetings, and other industry-related events as an MMR representative.
  • Stay current on competitive offerings, regional pricing, and market trends.
  • Offer feedback on market reach and product performance.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of sales experience in commercial roofing, building materials, or construction.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction and metal roofing.
  • Proven success managing longer sales cycles and closing B2B activity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel 70% of the time within a 5-hour radius of Franklin, Indiana.
  • Proficient in CRM usage, Microsoft, and digital communication tools.
  • Exposure to current design software.
  • Compensation

  • Base Salary : $75-90,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Commission : % of gross profit on bookings shipped; potential 2x-3x base salary.
