Senior Project Manager Construction / Facility Expansion

Location : Charleston, South Carolina, US

Reporting to : Global Head of Operations Engineering

Job Overview

This role is responsible for leading expansion projects in close collaboration with the Engineering and Facilities functions at our new state-of-the-art device manufacturing facility in North Charleston, SC.

The role will provide the opportunity to develop into a future leadership position within these functions as the site expands.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and support the Project Team in the development of the construction schedule.
• Drive tasks and manage stakeholders to meet critical schedule milestones including design, procurement, construction, startup, commissioning, punch-listing, and closeout.
• Ensure completion of the Project meeting desired schedule, cost and quality
• Select, coordinate and oversee subcontractors in various phases as required
• Work with Project Team to develop, assess and issue Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
• Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses
• Manage work and inputs from variety of stakeholders; change order management
• risks and establish contingency plans
• the operations team to review plans, specifications and general project requirements
• Review technical specifications and designs to ensure state-of-the-art solutions
• Ensure effective on-site quality control and documented acceptance and turn-over processes during the construction phase
• Build effective relationships with architects, engineers, GC, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Qualification

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering required
• 10+ years of experience in Construction Project Management with emphasis on Design-Build and Industrial / Manufacturing preferred
• Experience with projects in the following areas : Medium to Large Scale Manufacturing, Injection molding, Highly Automated facilities / logistics systems, Healthcare / Pharma / MedTech
• Strong technical background and experience is required (MEP, structural, code)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
• Self-starter with a high degree of personal responsibility and integrity oriented
• Local construction market (GCs, design firms, trades) in SC / SE-US is preferred
