Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the Finance Department by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with nonprofit healthcare accounting standards, and supporting the organization's mission through reliable financial stewardship. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, reconciliations, grants compliance, and audit support. The Senior Accountant partners with Finance leadership, operations staff, and external auditors to ensure the integrity of financial information.

Core Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

• Perform daily accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable / receivable, cash, and grant accounting.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit healthcare standards.
• Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
• Prepare schedules and documentation to support the annual financial audit, Form 990, and other regulatory filings.
• Assist in grant reporting and compliance with Uniform Guidance and other funding requirements.
• Partner with the Accounting Manager to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement system enhancements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide accurate and timely responses to financial data requests from leadership and program staff.
• Ensure financial systems are maintained to support multiple funding streams and donor reporting requirements.

Compensation

$93,000.00 - $126,000.00 Annually
