Under the general direction of an assigned supervisor or manager, the incumbent will interview and advise students and determine financial need and program eligibility for work, loans, grants and scholarships.

FINANCIAL AID ADVISOR

OPEN RECRUITMENT

RANGE CL- 35 $4,814 - $6,020 Monthly

This recruitment will establish an eligibility list valid for 6 months

and will be used to fill current and future vacancies.*

Anticipated Start Date : July 2024

Salary : Range CL-35 $4,814 - $6,020 Monthly

Initial Salary Placement : New employees start at Step A ($4,814) or B ($5,091) on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination equivalent to :

Associate degree or equivalent in business, accounting, social services or related field.

Increasingly responsible financial aid experience including training in need analysis and financial aid packaging. Expertise in operating computer databases and multifaceted software programs in an efficient and effective manner.

VETERAN'S POINTS :

Veterans not previously employed by the District, with 30 days or more of service who become eligible for appointment by attaining the passing mark established for the examination, shall be allowed an additional credit of five (5) points and disabled veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of ten (10) points, which shall be added to the percentages attained in the examinations by the veterans.

Any applicant who claims veteran's credit must submit Form DD 214 at the time the employment application is submitted. Failure to submit Form DD 214 at the time of application shall result in no veteran's credits being considered or added to any passing score.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

The assessment process for this position may include any combination of the following : application screening for initial qualifications, supplemental training and experience screening, documentation(s) / certification(s) screening, written examination, performance examination, and / or oral examination.

If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days ( 3 months) to test again for the same classification during a posted recruitment.

ASSESSMENT DATES

The following dates are tentative and may change depending on the needs of the recruitment.

Application Screening : May 29 - June 5, 2024

Written / Performance Examinations : June 6 - 14, 2024

Oral Panel Interview : June 12 - 21, 2024

Final Selection Interview : June 24 - 28, 2024
