Senior Electrical Engineer

WSB is seeking a driven and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing Power group. This leadership role is critical to the delivery of distributed generation (DG) and utility-scale renewable energy projects including solar PV wind hydro and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The successful candidate will oversee electrical design execution across the full project lifecyclefrom early development through commissioningwhile building and mentoring a high-performing engineering team. This position requires strong technical expertise in renewable electrical design proficiency with CAD and electrical modeling tools and a deep understanding of engineering workflows QA / QC processes and troubleshooting practices. The role also emphasizes collaboration continuous improvement and a commitment to technical excellence and operational efficiency.

What you will do :

• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for distributed generation (DG) and utility-scale energy projects.
• Build and lead a high-performing self-sufficient electrical engineering team focused on efficient project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Oversee and guide the preparation of detailed electrical design packages and system studies including but not limited to short circuit load flow reactive power harmonics arc flash grounding insulation coordination and transient analysis.
• Lead internal QA / QC processes to ensure technical accuracy and quality of all deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with NEC NESC IEEE and all applicable interconnection and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
• Provide technical leadership throughout all project phases from siting and permitting to detailed design procurement construction and commissioning.
• Drive on-time within-scope project execution through cross-disciplinary collaboration with civil structural geotechnical environmental and permitting teams.
• Engage directly with clients utilities AHJs and other stakeholders to communicate technical concepts and ensure alignment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges with sound technical judgment.
• Recruit manage and mentor electrical engineering staff supporting team growth and professional development.
• Oversee staffing plans resource allocation and workload balancing.
• Support performance management goal setting and team development initiatives.
• Promote a culture of collaboration innovation and technical excellence.
• Represent WSB in client meetings interviews and technical proposal efforts.
• Contribute to pursuit strategies scoping and level-of-effort estimation for new projects.
