As a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer at Presbyterian
Healthcare Services (PHS), you'll play a crucial role in the
diagnosis and management of fetuses, children and adults with
congenital heart disease. Our Pediatric and Adult
Congenital Cardiology program is the state leader in congenital
heart disease - providing comprehensive surgical, interventional
and ambulatory care to patients with all forms of congenital heart
disease. We perform more than 250 congenital cardiac surgeries and
interventional cardiac catheterizations each year and continue to
grow. As a non-academic institution, Echocardiographers at
Presbyterian are on the front lines of congenital heart disease
care - frequently providing the initial diagnostic assessment of
patients with undiagnosed congenital heart disease and working with
physicians to ensure each patient receives a comprehensive
echocardiogram. Sonographers also participate in all OR and cath
lab imaging - in addition to providing inpatient echocardiograms
and clinic-based echocardiograms. Sign-on bonus of

Perform comprehensive, diagnostic images using 2D, 3D, color
imaging to evaluate the structure and function of the heart.
Patient care : Ensure each echo is done in a patient-centered,
comfortable and safe environment. Sonographers explain the process
to patients and alert physicians of critical findings or changes in
patient condition that require further evaluation. Prepare
preliminary echo reports including relevant measurements.
Outreach : Willingness to participate in outreach clinics up to once
a month, including potential overnight stays at clinics that serve
rural locations in NM with no other access to congenital cardiac
care. Call : Participate in weeknight and weekend call. Sonographers
take "Home Call" with call pay. On average, sonographers are called
in overnight approximately once a month. Weekend call is typically
2-6 echoes on Saturdays and Sundays, and triaged by the on call
pediatric cardiologist. # Collaboration : Work as a team with fellow
sonographers and physicians to ensure smooth patient flow and
optimal imaging for every patient. # Equipment maintenance :
Assist echo lab managers with maintaining equipment and performing
quality control. # Continuing Education : Participate
in educational sessions to ensure we provide the most up-to-date
care to our patients. Level I - Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer : One
(1) to nine (9) years of experience in inpatient / outpatient cardiac
ultrasound. Graduate of a two (2) year Allied Health Training
Program in Ultrasound Technology -OR- graduate of bachelors program
in health science (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular
technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy,
or nursing)-OR- graduate of an accredited program in cardiac
ultrasound (echocardiography) preferred but not required New Mexico
State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation
Therapy Program (NMRTT) required RDCS AE (Adult) -OR- RCS (adults
echo) -AND- RDCSPE( peds echo ) -OR- RCCS (cardiac congenital),
months of hire. Level II - Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer :
Ten (10) years or more of experience in inpatient / outpatient
cardiac ultrasound. Graduate of a two (2) year Allied Health
Training Program in Ultrasound Technology -OR- graduate of
bachelors program in health science (including, but not limited to,
cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology,
respiratory therapy, or nursing)-OR- graduate of an accredited
program in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) preferred but not
required New Mexico State Licensure under the New Mexico Medical
Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program (NMRTT) required have
