Summary of Responsibilities :

This position is responsible for providing pre-sales and / or post-sales care to Streck customers, both internal and external in areas such as processing customer orders, answering phone calls and handling their needs in an expedient, efficient, and polite manner.

Other responsibilities are monitoring inventory levels, assisting the Sales team and service as back-up to the receptionist.

Essential Duties and Functions :

  • Establish new customer accounts by following the assigned process. Determine if drop-ship account is necessary and then create as needed.
  • Utilize and navigate the CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) system, Shipping Portals, Streck.com and SharePoint.
  • Utilize and understand the Weekly Hematology and Daily Inventory sheets, as well as vial availability.
  • Process orders from e-mail, electronic interchange (EDI) or phone, confirm as necessary, and file them accurately.
  • Understand warehouse locations and shipping guidelines.
  • Contact customers as needed and answer calls from customers to provide support as requested.
  • Handle all error reports as needed and generate paperwork for any necessary returns, replacements, credits, or other account information.
  • Maintain accounts and orders within the system including cancellations and changes.
  • Understand and perform basic customer care responsibilities and tasks (i.e., process credit cards, reprint invoices etc.).
  • Process instrument placements including demonstrations, purchases, and service agreements.
  • Provide limited support to Sales, Distribution, Accounting, and Technical Service departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or department manager.

Position Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Two to four years of college preferred.
  • Two to three years of customer service experience required.
  • Must be dependable, well organized, able to manage time and responsibilities, and be able to communicate effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing.
  • General knowledge of computers and software applications i.e Outlook, Word, Excel etc. along with basic keyboarding skills are essential.
  • Must possess good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Technical Competencies :

  • Knowledge of and ability to operate general office machines, equipment, and computer software.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively, clearly, and grammatically correct.
  • Ability to analyze data and reach conclusions.
  • Ability to type 40 wpm on the computer.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.

Work Environment / Travel Demands :

The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).

Travel demands for this position are estimated up to 0%. If travel is required, this travel may include customer visits, events / trade shows, and completion of presentations primarily throughout Domestic US or International regions.

Employees must comply with all travel recommendations regarding safe travel according to company policies and guidelines, and all federal, state, local, and international orders.

Physical and Mental Demands :

Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 0 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 0 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

This also includes standing for up to two and a half hours consecutively, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, stooping, fingering, and grasping.

Expressing and receiving detailed information through written and oral communication. Also has an ability to make sound, appropriate, and prompt decisions within the guidelines of the role.
