Transportation Coordinator
2nd Shift : Monday - Friday, 9am - 5 : 30pm Hourly Rate : $20 - $25 / hour
General Summary : Coordinates outbound shipments to support transportation operations. Ensures timely, accurate communication and coordination across stores, distribution centers, carriers, and internal teams to maintain service standards and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate outbound and backhaul freight assignments to maximize truck utilization and reduce costs.
- Monitor carrier performance and ensure compliance with delivery protocols.
- Perform accurate data entry across transportation systems and ensure accuracy of carrier invoicing within those systems.
- Conduct tracking and tracing of deliveries and equipment.
- Support claims processes and ensure proper documentation for credits.
- Analyze operational trends and implement process improvements.
- Follow safety procedures and promote a clean, organized work environment.
- Adhere to company policies and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.Experience : 35 years of customer service experience preferred. Familiarity with DOT regulations and driver hours of service is a plus.Skills : Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Physical & Working Conditions :
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting, walking, standing, climbing, stooping, and kneeling. Primarily office-based in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional exposure to warehouse conditions and regulated materials.
Availability :
Must be willing to work shift hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
