General Surgery- Cape Coral

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is actively recruiting a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our dedicated surgical team. This is a full-time, permanent position located at the Cape Coral VA Outpatient Center in Cape Coral, Florida.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Provide the full scope of general surgery care to Veterans

Perform outpatient surgical and procedural services

Conduct pre- and post-operative care, including patient evaluations and discharge planning

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, Veteran-centered care

Supervise and mentor surgical residents and students in clinical care and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in a broad range of general surgical techniques

Experience in minimally invasive surgical procedures

Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring

Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team

Prior experience in a VA or academic health system preferred
