NSC Staffing has immediate openings for Welders in Indianapolis , IN . Candidates must be comfortable working around machines.

Attention to detail and ability to work overtime.

Job Requirements :

Summary : Runs welding machines (MIG & TIG). Runs fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties :

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

149; Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template

149; Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade

149; Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine

149; Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction • Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation

149; Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpiece

149; Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or workpieces

149; Sets up and performs maintenance on fab and machine shop machines and performs burning work

149; Operates any equipment needed to perform job

149; Performs related duties as assigned by supervision

149; Use various welding equipment such as : hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment (arc welders, gas welders, and gas torches) to weld together various metal components

149; Join various components of fabricated sheet metal assemblies • Cut, trim, or scarf metal objects to dimensions, as specified by layout, customers' work orders, or blueprints or sketches

149; Operates grinders to smooth and polish welds

Skills and Abilities Required :

149; 3 years of welding experience

149; 1 year of TIG welding experience

149; High school diploma or equivalent

149; Mathematical skills such as : adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;

ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to read and interpret metal rule

149; Reasoning ability such as : commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions;

ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

149; Physical demands : while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift / or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include : close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

149; Work environment : while performing duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.

The employee is frequently exposed to flying particles of dust and metal pieces. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
