Duties

• Lead and conduct quantitative assessment of financial statements and economic / market data.
• Perform intensive analysis of indentures, collateral management agreements, official statements, and other legal documents for structured credit transactions.
• Conduct initial and ongoing credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of companies.
• Actively monitor portfolio and make recommendations for rating transitions in a timely manner.
• Work on new-issue rating assignments as needed including Refi / Reset / New transactions.
• Formulate a cogent rating rationale, present to rating committees, and lead committee discussion.
• Demonstrate rating judgment by distinguishing different entities at different ratings levels.
• Produce timely, in-depth, high quality, insightful, focused, and relevant research on specific issuers, general credit trends, or sector related issues.
• Build and maintain high profile relationships with investors and issuers, interacting frequently based upon written industry and topical research.
• Develop franchise through intermediary marketing and visibility initiatives, including conference participation.
• Lead issuer meetings, including effectively presenting key rating factors and asking probing questions that result in substantive dialog about key rating issues.
• Interact with senior company executives, investors, intermediaries and press / media.
• Effectively and comprehensively present credits in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings.
• Coach and develop junior analysts and support associates.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related technical field plus three (3) years of experience as an Analyst or in a related position performing credit analysis in structured finance to understand operational and financial profiles. Must have experience with the following : conducting quantitative financial modeling and statistical analysis; presenting credit analyses internally and externally; leading credit committee discussions; reviewing and analyzing deal documents, including indentures and loan documents; authoring credit opinions, issuer analyses, or internal research memos, and publishing research papers externally; applying knowledge of financial and fixed income markets and analyzing credit impact; leading projects utilizing an agile framework that involves both internal and external stakeholders; and working with Microsoft Power Platform low-code / no-code tools and programming languages, including VBA, SQL, Python, and R.

For US-based roles only : the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $148,678 to $236,800, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
