Senior Accountant
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term basis in Boston, Massachusetts. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and innovative environment within the biotech industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting functions and a proactive approach to managing financial operations. Biotech experience and proficiency in Netsuite is strongly preferred. This position is three days a week for the first two months and then will transition to a 40 hour work week in the new year. One day a week is required on site at their Boston, MA headquarters.
Responsibilities :
- Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Perform reconciliations for accounts and financial records to maintain accuracy.
- Oversee accounts payable operations, ensuring efficient and compliant workflows.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger with precision.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial analysis and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in training and transitioning knowledge within the department.
- Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite and Prendio to streamline operations.
- Provide support during audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Requirements :
Minimum of 5-10 years of accounting experience in a detail-oriented work environment.Proficiency in NetSuite; experience with Prendio is a plus.Strong background in the biotech industry is highly desirable.Demonstrated expertise in month-end close, reconciliations, and accounts payable.Solid understanding of general ledger and journal entry processes.Ability to work onsite three days a week initially, transitioning to a permanent onsite schedule.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively within a team.
