Accounting Assistant

Qualifications :
Education & Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Completion of coursework in accounting, finance, or business is preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably within a public agency or similarly structured environment.
Knowledge of :
Basic accounting principles and financial recordkeeping practices.
Procedures related to payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
General office practices and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g., Tyler Munis, PeopleSoft, or similar).
Skills and Abilities :
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and review.
Ability to prioritize and shift between tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Clear communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff, vendors, and the public.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive financial data.
