J ob Summary:
The Union Administration Payroll Analyst oversees the set-up, maintenance, audits and remittance of union related payments, along with the associated administrative tasks. The position reports into the payroll department of Akima who support over 10,000 employees and handles a high volume of collective bargaining agreements (CBA). The collective bargaining agreements contain a high level of complexity.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:

Review and comprehension of all union documentation.

Set-up of union related payments including the coordination of new vendor set-up.

Set up and update of employee records in CostPoint with union specific deduction/contribution codes.

Maintenance of the master union matrix spreadsheet, noting any changes with effective dates.

Submission of union payment check requests after completion of validation steps.

Maintenance of the union administration electronic mailbox.
-
Maintenance of the union check request calendar.
-
Coordination with auditors and internal departments including providing any requested information.

Submission of live check vendor payments via shipping source/mail.
-
Maintenance of documentation associated with vendors paid via ACH.
-
Assisting with the reconciliation of accruals to the general ledger.

Coordination of Cognos updates with the IT department.
-
Coordination of import testing with unions as required.

Development of positive working relationships with union contacts to facilitate coordination of payment set-up and processing.

Performance and audit of system and ACH set-up to validate against the union agreements.

Maintenance of annual updates required by union agreements with regards to deductions and payroll specific contributions.

Proactively determine process improvements.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

3-5 years payroll or accounting experience.

Accounting degree or related degree preferred.

CBA pension/benefits experience preferred.

Costpoint and Cognos experience preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products.

Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to set priorities to assure deadlines are met.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines

Excellent verbal, written, organization, analytical and planning skills.

Professional, courteous, proactive disposition.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task.

Ability to process basic functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel.
Posted Salary Range
65,000-70,000
