Job description
To support a growing provider practice, the full-time Certified Medical Coder will review medical documentation, assign appropriate codes (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT), and ensure compliance with coding standards while working remotely. Key responsibilities Review and audit medical records to assign diagnostic and procedure codes accurately Provide guidance to medical professionals on documentation accuracy and coding guidelines Monitor and validate physician charge capture and participate in coding team meetings Required qualifications Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Certification in Coding required Specific knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding schemes Certifications such as CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or COC required or must be obtained within one year of hire Successful completion of coursework in medical terminology or human anatomy/physiology preferred Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
