Full-Time | Salary Range $95,000 - $115,000
Gjelina NYC is seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven General Manager to lead our high-energy, ingredient-focused restaurant in the heart of NoHo. ABOUT THE ROLE
The General Manager serves as the operational and cultural leader of the restaurant—guiding Floor Managers and front-of-house teams, driving financial success, and upholding Gjelina’s core values of consistency and hospitality.
You will partner closely with the Director of Operations and Executive Chef to set goals, maintain standards, and create an environment where both guests and team members feel seen, supported, and valued.
This role is highly collaborative, deeply operational, and rooted in leadership with empathy and clarity.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead with Purpose
Foster a supportive workplace with clear agreements, ongoing coaching, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Mentor and develop Floor Managers and all FOH staff through regular check-ins, training, and performance conversations.
Set clear expectations for conduct and hospitality.
Drive Operational Excellence
Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations with a focus on service, ambiance, quality, safety, and efficiency.
Manage labor, inventory, scheduling, cash control, COGS, and waste initiatives to meet financial goals.
Ensure compliance with DOH standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
Cultivate Guest Experience
Build rapport with regulars and first-time guests alike—ensuring every visit reflects Gjelina’s hospitality philosophy.
Oversee service quality, handle guest feedback, and ensure the dining room is prepared, polished, and welcoming at all times.
Coordinate Across Departments
Partner with the Executive Chef on menu updates, training, and pre-shift briefings.
Communicate clearly and effectively pre-, during-, and post-service with all departments.
Lead execution for regular service, catering, and events.
Elevate the Team
Provide ongoing coaching, development, and training for all FOH staff.
Champion internal growth—helping team members understand pathways within the restaurant and the wider Gjelina Group.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
5+ years of management experience in a high-volume, high-energy, upscale environment.
A hospitality-driven leader who excels at coaching, motivating, and developing teams.
Strong operational background : scheduling, inventory, labor systems, payroll, budgeting, P&L analysis, COGS control, and forecasting.
Deep hospitality instincts—with the ability to stay calm, clear, and focused under pressure.
Strong food and beverage knowledge, with the ability to train others on menus, ingredients, and procedures.
Proficient with POS systems, financial reporting, and digital tools (Excel / Google Sheets).
Flexible availability : evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand for 8–10 hours, lift to 45 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
Food Handler Certification and DOH familiarity.
