Senior Material Planning Supervisor

You Will :
- Directly responsible for a growing team of 4 to 6 material planners encompassing all levels of experience
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice MP&L vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Ensure that material scheduling strategies and processes are in place and work effectively to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum inventory levels, while optimizing costs.
- Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions especially in the event of material shortages that affect production.
- Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
- Supervise inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place
- Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising to meet production requirements and address operational risks
- Design, develop, and implement flexible solutions to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements, and add value
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure that professional and consistent material planning processes are applied across the business
- Ensure that any Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system and related IT business systems (ERP) that are in place are effective and that data is accurate and up-to-date and resolve any issues as required
- Ensure strategic and operational information, reports, and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any corrective actions
- Own the supplier metrics within the Supply Chain Management Hub
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan, and facilitate on-time materials to the production cells as and when required avoiding disruption to production
- Take the lead on internal and external relationships to ensure consistent, timely, and effective communication regarding material availability
- Work with cross functional teams to deliver effective solutions
- Support new business initiatives and projects and contribute to review meetings and the change process. Ensure effective material planning implementation takes place relating to the changes
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time
- Design, develop, and implement processes and work with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for materials is met
- Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with members of the Purchasing team
- Work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure purchasing strategies are maximized
You Have :
Bachelors or Masters in Supply Chain or related field3 years of leadership experience in Material Planning OR Supply Chain5 years of material planning or supply chain experience (automotive or volume manufacturing environment or related)Flexibility in work schedule is required (to include weekends and evenings)CPIM or APICS certification preferredMust be able to analyze, evaluate, and react to all issues and concerns that have the potential of adversely affecting the manufacturing schedule.Knowledge of MRP processes; SAP experience (preferred), with a solid understanding of discrete manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure to pay processes and supply chain operationsAbility to evaluate and analyze data to present clear recommendations to leadershipDemonstrate skills in supplier operational and relationship managementAbility to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasivelyAbility to work independently on multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
