ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Job Summary :

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and assisting in audit and tax-related processes. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring efficient financial operations.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Accounts Payable : Process vendor invoices; schedule, track, make, and post payments; manage accruals and prepaids; reconcile payable accounts; maintain organized records.
• Accounts Receivable : Record receivables, reconcile customer accounts, and maintain accurate records.
• Reconcile complex bank and credit card accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance and preparation of journal entries.
• Support quarterly and annual audit requirements.
• Perform ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as needed.
• Post daily, weekly, and quarterly tax payments; reconcile tax accounts.
• Assist in organizing state tax filings and resolving discrepancies or outstanding notices.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
• Collaborate with other members of the accounting team and deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.
