Senior Technical Member of Staff

Location: Nashville or Austin preferred, but other locations will be considered.

The Developer Experience team in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is looking for senior full-stack engineers to help improve every OCI developer's quality of life. Your work will have direct impact on the productivity of the engineers and the success of the business at OCI. The Developer Experience team creates and owns a wide range of tools for everyday development and operation, such as fully managed Grafana instances that natively integrate with OCI observability platform and are used by every OCI team for service performance evaluation and diagnosis. Additionally, we also provide fully managed platforms to OCI teams to develop and run UX applications. At every level, our engineers have a significant technical and business impact designing and building innovative new systems to power OCI's business critical applications.

About you:

• You are comfortable with ambiguity. You have a strong sense of ownership and are able to drive development of new projects and features to completion.

• You can create complex JavaScript applications or have solid fundamentals and are willing to learn front-end technologies

• You have great communication skills. You can clearly explain complex technical concepts.

• You work backward, starting from the user. You care about creating usable, useful software that solves real problems and brings delight to users.

Responsibilities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience

• 5+ years' experience building web services and RESTful APIs with Java, Golang, or C#

• 3+ years' experience with JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, CSS

• Solid CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and networking

• Self-driven, able to take ownership of the complex features, and support junior engineers to deliver results on time

• Strong communication skills, including cross-team collaboration

Preferred:

• Experience with popular Java frameworks

• Experience with React or other JavaScript frameworks

• Experience with ES6/ES6+ Experience with Linux/UNIX fundamentals

• Experience with functional programming concepts

• Experience with cloud platforms

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,800 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
