Deputy Clerk I
Under the direction of the Document Processing Team Leader, the Deputy Clerk I is responsible for scanning documents into the system for input, verifying court documents, processing follow up work and performing other miscellaneous and ancillary duties. This position is classified as non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Examples Of Duties
Maintains a high level of accuracy in the following duties applicable to the position :
- Delivers and picks up court documents from the judicial offices.
- Scans documents into the system for input.
- Processes follow up work, to include foreclosures, issuing summonses, subpoenas, writs, executions and defaults
- Prepares cases for Foreclosure Sale in RealAuction site.
- Assists customers over the phone and through written correspondence; provides standard / detailed information concerning the work unit, may refer inquiry to proper department or agency if unable to assist.
- Processes support payments that are paid through the State Disbursement Unit.
- Sets up and updates child support cases in the State Child Support Enforcement System.
- Works up child support cases for court.
- Opens and processes mail.
- Verifies and boxes up court documents.
- Prepares packets to be sent to outside agencies.
- Performs other follow up duties of a similar nature / level.
Typical Qualifications
High school diploma or its equivalent (G.E.D.).One year of related clerical experience.Must be able to type a minimum of 35 correct words per minute.Valid Florida Driver's LicenseSupplemental Information
