Job description

Job Title : Electrical EIT / Electrical Designer

Location : Houston, TX

Job Summary :

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical EIT or Electrical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in MEP electrical design and is actively preparing for or planning to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. This role will provide hands-on experience in electrical design, system layouts, and project coordination for educational facilities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for educational buildings.
  • Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to create accurate electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineering teams to ensure seamless MEP integration.
  • Support senior engineers in project planning, coordination, and documentation.
  • Conduct field surveys and site visits as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, building codes, and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in MEP electrical design.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD (Revit experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • EIT certification or actively working towards FE exam completion.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with educational facility projects (K-12 and higher education).
  • Familiarity with electrical codes such as NEC, NFPA, and local regulations.
  • Understanding of energy-efficient and sustainable design principles.
