Maintenance Technician

General Purpose :

This position is responsible for the general maintenance, service and repairs, and upkeep of F&W Properties apartments and buildings.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities :

• Perform service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, drywall, HVAC, carpentry, painting, etc., based on work orders in accordance with company standards.
• Assure all service requests are completed on a daily basis.
• Able to travel within a 8-10 mile radius to multiple properties per day (mileage is paid at the federal rate).
• Accurately document work performed on service requests, including parts and return to supervisor by end of the day.
• Review properties daily for issues to be addressed.
• Review and receive daily work orders and prioritize.
• Respond to resident concerns and problems in a timely and professional manner.
• Ability to fill in as needed in order to get the jobs completed.
• Rotate (with 7 other employees) on call time to ensure 24 hour maintenance service.
• Other duties or projects as assigned.
• Learn all Properties (location, where the mechanicals are located, etc).

Education and Experience :

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance issues quickly.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must have own transportation.
• Have own tools.

Physical Demands :

• Must be able to move, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift 75 lbs.
• Must meet the general health required by this facility.
• Must be free of illicit drugs.
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that provide for accommodations of these senses.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and move supplies and equipment.
