Summary

Responsible for plant maintenance of HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing ventilation, HVAC, compressed air, chiller & boiler equipment.
  • Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on above mentioned equipment.
  • Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing preventative maintenance services.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Maintaining global facility set points and master matrix ensuring all buildings standards are maintained.
  • Keeping logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers\' requirements.
  • Assisting with customers\' queries.

Knowledge And Abilities

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning. Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in ordinance with HVAC protocols. Working knowledge of boiler systems, chillers and compressed air systems. Works in a team with co-workers to resolve work issues. Knowledge of basic shop math. Forklift certification preferred but not required. Able to communicate effectively in English.

Education And Experience

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of three years' work experience as an HVAC technician. Experience in manufacturing or facilities setting preferred but not necessary. Experience operating aerial mechanical lifts.

Physical Demands

Must be able to occasionally exert push force up to 50 pounds, must have good eye sight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors. Must be able to periodically walk to other areas of the facility and ability to work in confined spaces and on roofs (and within safety guidelines).

Work Environment

Within safety guidelines, there will be exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils / solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and / or skin.
