Johnson College is currently seeking a part-time Fundamentals of Carpentry Instructor. This is a part-time position for the upcoming spring 2026 semester to include mornings and afternoon courses. The Fundamentals of Carpentry Instructor is responsible for teaching students the essential skills, knowledge, and safety practices required for entry-level work in the carpentry trade. Instructions include both online and hands-on lab components, preparing students for careers in residential and light commercial construction. The instructor will focus on developing students' abilities in carpentry tools, materials, and techniques while reinforcing safety, accuracy, and professionalism.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
EDUCATION :
Associate Degree in the subject or a related subject taught
EXPERIENCE :
Technical - Minimum of 4 experience in the area taught
SKILLS :
Individuals must have strong communication skills, the ability to teach, expertise in their program area, good managerial skills, knowledge of industry standards, assessment skills, organizational, and word-processing skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Enforce college policies and procedures with all students and within their course of study.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED :
Equipment used in the program of study, computers and associated software.
