Bridges Healthcare, Inc. has an immediate opening for a part time APRN, to provide psychiatric evaluation and psychotropic management services for children.
$85.00 per hour
16 hour per week position, non-benefited
Some evening hours required
PURPOSE and POSITION OVERVIEW
Provide psychiatric evaluation and psychotropic management services for children currently enrolled with outpatient psychotherapy, school-based psychotherapy, or IICAPS services within the Bridges Healthcare system.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITES
- Perform psychiatric evaluations.
- Manage psychotropic prescribing.
- Coordinate with psychotherapists regarding diagnostic formulations and treatment planning.
- Respond to patient/ family communications such as refill requests, questions about medications, etc. in a timely manner.
- Participate in clinical team meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care and related communications.
- Perform any other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by your supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES
- Masters or Doctorate level degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Certification as either clinical nurse specialist (CNS) or nurse practitioner (NP) by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Connecticut licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
- Drug Enforcement Agency license (DEA) and Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration (CSR).
- Knowledge of psychiatric illnesses and practices for prescribing psychotropic medications in the child and adolescent population.
- Ability to create clear and concise documentation of all patient care and display basic computer literacy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize in times of competing demands.
- Desire for continuous learning and self-development.
